About the GIFS

The Global Independent Film Showcase (GIFS) features independent films from around the world. Seeking to promote and distribute films of significant artistic value, GIFS helps interested audiences find new independent films of merit.

In part, GIFS is a response to the increasingly homogenized film entertainment available through traditional channels. GIFS helps its customers find films that go beyond the mainstream, in terms of content, viewpoint, and presentation.

GIFS selects films based exclusively on artistic merit, without considering political or commercial pressures. GIFS stands behind each of its artists, particularly those who deal with controversial subject matter.

Each film is reviewed and chosen from our submissions. We are not seeking to create a giant database or dumping ground, but rather a small selection of high-quality films.
